Learn to make traditional sourdough bread from scratch

David & Margaret will walk you through the baking process, from making your very own sourdough starter to baking hand shaped doughs in Flinders' original wood-fired scotch oven. 

Not only will you get to take home your sourdough bread, we'll provide you with knowledge and guidance to nurture your starter so you can continue to bake traditional sourdough bread at home.

Our baking workshop are held in the historic Flinders bakery where you'll learn the history of wood-fired baking, traditional techniques and the benefits of organic sourdough. We'll also be supplied with bottomless coffee and a delicious lunch.

FAQ

How Many People Are In Each Class?

We can host up to 8 students per workshop. The small group environment creates a more engaging, hands-on experiences with a balance between theory & baking.

How Do I Book The Workshop?

You can book your next baking workshop through our event on trybooking.com or by getting in touch with David and Margaret via email or visiting the bakery.

Where & When Do You Run Workshops?

All classes are held in the historic baking room at Flinders Sourdough on Sundays between 10 am & 2 pm. If Sundays don't suit, get together a group of friends, colleagues or sourdough enthusiasts and book a class midweek.

Do I Need To Bring Anything?

Just bring yourself and closed-toe shoes. We'll provide you with everything you need to know to make traditional sourdough bread as well as your own sourdough starter and recipes for you to bake at home.
